The “Krasnoyarsk Stolby” National Park is located on the right bank of the Yenisei
Ruver neighboring the Yenisei River neighboring the big industrial city in Russia –
Krasnoyarsk. The land area of the National Park is 47 219 ha.

The first visitors called “Stolby” the taiga area with unique peculiar rocks. The National
Park of the same name “Stolby” was established in 1925 at the initiative of Krasnoyarsk
citizens, in 2019, it was transformed into the “Krasnoyarsk Stolby” National Park.

4.

The main landmark of the national park are the rocks. Some of them are
up to 90 meters high. About a hundred rocks have their own names, given
to them due to their resemblance with some constructions, animals, or
human beings.

5.

The central rocks accessible for visiting are the First, Second, Third, Fourth Pillars, the
Lion gate, the Feathers rushing into the heights that have become the symbol all accessible
rocks, as well as the Grandmother and the Granddaughter, of course, the incredible
Grandfather! This is a huge syenite rock with rigid face of the Grandfather carved on
stone.

6.

The most famous rock, the symbol of the National Park. One cannot confuse it with
something else not only in the world but worldwide. Four forty-meter-high vertical
stones, adjoint to each other, resemble the feathers of a gigantic bird.

7.

The national park is unique in that it borders a city of a million people. The main
contribution of the National Park of Krasnoyarsk is that the taiga natural ecosystem
preserved for 100 years thanks to the nature preservation efforts constitutes an
important part of the Krasnoyarsk’s natural wealth. It provides a high quality ‘natural’
life for the Krasnoyarsk residents and the visitors coming to the city.
