2. The Krasnoyarsk Territory is a subject of the Russian Federation located approximately in the geographical center of Russia in

the basin of the Yenisei River.
The area of the territory is 2,366,797 km2.
In the north, the region is washed by the waters of two
seas of the Arctic Ocean — the Kara Sea and the
Laptev Sea.
It borders Yakutia and Irkutsk area to the east, Tuva and
Khakassia to the south, Kemerovo and Tomsk area,
Khanty-Mansiysk and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous
districts to the west.

3. Climate

The climate of the Krasnoyarsk Territory is sharply continental. It is
characterized by strong fluctuations in air temperatures throughout the
year.
The average temperature in January is from -30 to -36 °C.
The average temperature in July ranges from 13 °C in the north (on the
shores of the seas less than 10 °C) to 16-18 °C in the center and up to 20
°C in the south.

11. Krasnoyarsk Pillars

The status of a nature reserve was granted to “Stolby”
in 1925 on the initiative of Krasnoyarsk residents
themselves - the only such case in the history of
Russia. Nothing has changed since then: “Stolby”,
which recently changed its status to a national park, is
still the pride and eternal love of the citizens.

12. Putorana Plateau

This place is also called the land of ten thousand lakes and a
thousand waterfalls. The Putoransky Reserve, a UNESCO World
Heritage Site, is located on the plateau. Here live the rarest
animals and birds, which can be found only in some parts of
Kamchatka. The highest waterfall in Eurasia - Talnikovy waterfall
and the geographical center of Russia - Lake Vivi are located on
the Putorana Plateau.

Tunguska Nature Reserve
Here 100 years ago, in June 1908, the
Tunguska meteorite fell. The explosion with
the power of 40 megatons in TNT equivalent
(about two thousand atomic bombs) destroyed
everything and everyone on the area of 2.2
