IPM program:

Work with a licensed pest
control operator to eliminate
pests that do enter

Use reputable suppliers
Check deliveries before enter your facility
Refuse shipment with signs of pet
infestation:
Possible pest holes
Pest egg cases
Pest body parts (legs, wings, etc.)

Install screens in all windows &
vents
Install self closing devices on all
doors
Install door sweeps on all doors
Install air curtains
Keep all exterior openings closed
tightly!

metal around pipes
Install screens over
ventilation pipes on
roof

Seal all cracks in floors & walls
Seal spaces or cracks where fixed
equipment is fitted to the floor
Store supplies away from walls

Paint a white stripe around the
edge of the storeroom
Cover floor drains with hinged
grades

Pests are usually attracted to damp, dark,
& dirty places, so….
Dispose garbage quickly & correctly
Keep garbage containers clean, in good
condition & tightly covered
Clean up spills around containers immediately
Store all food & supplies as quickly as possible
Clean & sanitize the facility thoroughly

problem when…
You see them in daylight
There is a strong oily odor
You discover droppings (like grains of black pepper)
You find egg cases that are capsule shaped (brown,
dark red or black)
