Minsk Sightseeing Tour2.
Hello! Today we'dlike to offer you a
tourist route through
the beautiful and
impressive places of
Belarus.
The first place we'd
like to suggest is the
Soligorsk waste
heaps.
3.
The Soligorsk waste heaps-man-made mountains ofwaste from potash production-are located in the Minsk
region, approximately 10-12 km from Soligorsk.
In 1949, geologists discovered rich deposits of sylvinite,
a raw material for the production of potash fertilizers,
in the depths of the Soligorsk region.
In 1958, the settlement of Novostarobinsk (the future
Soligorsk) was founded, and in 1961, industrial salt
mining began.
The waste heaps arose as a byproduct of production.
During the processing of ore at potash plants, useful
potassium is extracted, and the remaining "waste" rock
is stored in huge mounds.
At the Soligorsk waste heaps, you'll see:
• "Martian" mountains: Huge red-orange mounds up to
160 meters high.
• Turquoise lakes
• Beautiful landscapes

The next stop on our route is Mir Castle. It is located in the Grodno Region of Belarus, in the urban settlement of Mir, at 2 Krasnoarmeyskaya Street.
It was founded by magnate Yuri Ilyinich in 1552 as the first private stone fortress in Belarus.
Under the Radziwill family, the castle was transformed into a luxurious residence. A Renaissance palace was added to the
walls, and gardens and a system of ponds were created around it.
Despite sieges and destruction during wars, the castle survived. In 2000, it was added to the UNESCO list and today is the
country's main tourist symbol. At Mir Castle, you can see: Defensive fortifications, princely chambers, a prison and cellars,
and a park complex.
5.
Our route concludes with the "BelarusianMaldives."
The "Belarusian Maldives" are picturesque
chalk quarries with turquoise waters, located
primarily in the Grodno Region, near the
village of Krasnoselsky (Volkovysk
District).
These are industrial quarries where chalk
has been mined for the cement plant in
Krasnoselsky since 1914.
The bright turquoise hue is due to chalk
residue at the bottom, which colors the
water.
From dangerous "wild" locations, they are
being transformed into tourist attractions-in
2023, a legal observation deck opened there,
and in 2025, they were designated a natural
monument.

Each of these places is beautiful and unique in itsown way. We recommend visiting them all.
