• After the collapse of USSR and gaining
independence, Belarus was a parliamentary
Republic. The first Chairman of the Supreme
Council of the Republic of Belarus Stanislav
Shushkevich. In 1992 was introduced the
Belarusian ruble, began forming their own
armed forces, was legalized the Belarusian
Greek Catholic Church. In 1993, Belarus ratified
the international Covenant on civil and political
rights.
