Twisted pair cable
Twisted pair is a type of communication cable, it is one or more pairs of insulated conductors
twisted together, covered with a plastic shell.
Twisted pair is one of the components of modern structured cabling systems. It is used in
telecommunications and computer networks as a physical signal transmission medium in many
technologies, for example, such as Ethernet.

Cable installation
Installation of a cable network - is a set of fairly
simple, but time-consuming and routine
operations for cutting cables, cutting ends and
installing connectors.

Example of cable installation
For example, we will perform crimping of a twisted pair RJ-45.
To do this, we will need the following materials:
■ Twisted pair cable;
■ At least 2 RJ-45 connectors;
■ Tool for crimping twisted pair. It is called a crimper, or simply crimping pliers;
■ Insulation removal tool - stripper. It is suitable for removing the outer shell, screen and insulation.

First step - removing cable insulation
We need to remove the top insulation from the
cable. To do this, insert the cable into a special
hole on the stripper, and cut off the insulation in
a circular motion.

Second step - alignment of the twisted
pair according to the scheme
We need to unravel the twisted pair, and align the
wiring according to the crimping scheme.

Third step - inserting wires into
connectors
Align the wiring, check whether they are
correctly exposed (according to the scheme), and
insert them into the RJ-45 connector.

8.

Fourth step - crimping the cable with a
crimper
Insert the connector into the crimper, and slowly
crimp the cable by squeezing the handles. You
need to squeeze the handles of the crimper hard.

9.

Last step - checking the cable
In the same way, we do crimping at the other
end of the cable. Our cable is ready, you can
check. For the test, we need to use a LAN
tester device.

10.
