SHOPPING LIST
This is an excellent warmer for smaller groups (up to ten students). You can also play this if you're
teaching one-to-one. It's another way of practicing and retaining vocabulary, as well as how to list
things (saying "A, B, and C" instead of "A and B and C.")
Start with a clause. Depending on the topic and your language focus, this could be different
things.
Here are some suggestions."I went to the shops and bought..." (clothes, accessories, household
items)
"I went to the zoo and saw..." (animals)
"I went on vacation and (did)..." (activities, verbs)
"I went to the supermarket and bought..." (food and drink)
Start by using the clause yourself and adding an item. For example, "I went to the shops and
bought a t-shirt." The students take turns continuing the sentence, remembering the item you said
and adding their own. The results are something like this.
Teacher: I went to the shops and bought a t-shirt.
Student 1: I went to the shops and bought a t-shirt and a purse.
Student 2: I went to the shops and bought a t-shirt, a purse, and an umbrella.
Student 3: I went to the shops and bought a t-shirt, a purse, an umbrella, and a pair of shoes.
The students will have great fun helping each other remember the things on the list and helps
their vocabulary, pronunciation, and the ability to list things in English. Always be overlooking as
they're speaking, ready to catch mistakes so you can reinforce difficult aspects to the whole class.
Shopping List is a great way to start up or end a lesson!

Why Christian Louboutin Heels Have a Red Sole
When you ask any girl what their dream designer purchase
would be, I can bet that a pair of Christian Louboutin heels
would be at the top of almost everybody's list.
With their sky heel stiletto heel and iconic red sole, Louboutin's
are the fashion statement we wish we could afford to make.
But we never knew the story behind the iconic red sole until
now. After dissecting Christian Louboutin's Rizzoli book, Marie
Claire discovered that as well as starting off his career as a
landscape gardener, it was actually nail polish that gave
Louboutin his inspiration.
After stealing his assistant's red nail polish, Louboutin painted
the boring black sole on a shoe just to see what it looked like.
But in the end he loved the result so much that from then on he
produced all his shoes with a red lacquered sole.
Luckily Louboutin doesn't use red nail polish anymore to paint
his shoes, but if your budget can't quite stretch to a pair of
heels, you can now buy a 'Rouge Louboutin' nail polish that is
exactly the same colour as those iconic soles.

COPYING WITH CORRECTIONS
• The class rewrites the paragraph changing incorrect
details.
British airways is one of the smallest airlines in the
world. Their buses fly all over the country. It is best to
check in two or three days before the advertised
arrival time. Travelers in economy class are restricted
to 22 tons of luggage in addition to any foot baggage.
This should be small enough to fit inside the cockpit.

SPELLING BEE
• Spelling bee (англ. spell — произносить по буквам
+ bee (истор.) — собрание) — конкурс (как правило
детский) произношения слов по буквам. Как полагают,
правила конкурса были придуманы в США. Национальные

в США, Великобритании, Австралии, Новой

выбрать главное – то есть то, что необходимо
проиллюстрировать таблицей или диаграммой. В
дальнейшем этот навык очень пригодится для
составления тезисов выступлений или написания
планов сочинений.
• Уже на начальном этапе обучения наряду с
традиционными заданиями (диктанты,
подстановочные упражнения, заполнение пропусков)
необходимо предлагать ученикам упражнения,
имеющие выход в реальную жизненную ситуацию.
Это может быть заполнение анкет, личных карточек,
оформление автобиографических сведений.
Подобные задания вносят в процесс обучения письму

STRIP STORIES
• Для развития логического мышления учащихся
полезными могут быть так называемые strip
stories. Небольшой текст разрезается на
отдельные предложения, которые студенты
должны соединить в логической
последовательности.

If we don’t have to leave our houses to shop, to learn, or to work, what will
happen to life as we know it?
Most people today cannot imagine life without the Internet. I believe it is one
of the most important innovations.
In my opinion, the Internet has more advantages than disadvantages. Our
lives are better with it and it is here to stay.
For example, we can read the news and find answers to questions 24 hours a
day. In addition, we can use the Internet for entertainment.
First of all, the Internet helps us find information easily. We can send emails to
friends and shop online. We can even listen to the latest music without
leaving our homes.
