is able to accumulate in the
liver, but for its complete
assimilation requires
normal production of bile,
and the food should contain
the optimal amount of fat.

3. The effect of vitamin K on the life of the body

Vitamin K is an integral part of the blood clotting
process.
• It is necessary for the synthesis of proteins, is
actively involved in the metabolic processes of bone
and connective tissue, supports the kidneys.
• Probably, vitamin K is important for the process of
regulating blood sugar: its lack can cause symptoms
inherent in diabetes.

From sources of animal origin it

pork liver, as well as dairy
products. Food of plant origin is
more enriched with vitamin K. it
is found in spinach, watercress,
lettuce, green tea, nettle, green
leaf and Brussels sprouts. In
olive oil, some fruits (bananas,
avocados, kiwi), bran and
cereals, this vitamin is also
present.
