• I have many books that I like.
• One of my favourite books of all time is a
novel ‘Master and Margarita’ by Mikhail
Bulgakov.

• Mikhail Bulgakov is a Russian
writer who lived in the 20th
century.
• He was born in Kiev in 1891
and died in Moscow in 1940.
• He is a famous writer, and
‘Master and Margarita’ is one
of his most well-known books.
Every Russian has ever read
this novel or watched a film
based on the book.

• ‘Master and Margarita’ was
written between 1928 and 1940.
• However, it was published only in
1967.
• ‘Master and Margarita’ is a satire
on the Soviet regime, so a leader
of the USSR of that time Joseph
Stalin forbade publishers to
publish the book.

5. The plot

• ‘Master and Margarita’ is a book about devil
and his company who come to Soviet Russia and
start doing some mystic things.
• At the same time the devil Voland helps one
infamous writer Master to find his beloved
woman Margarita.
• It is a book of love and
honesty, magic, conflict
between good and evil.

6. Why I like this book

• I like this book so much because it makes me
believe that miracles and magic are possible
in our world.
• Also this book encouraged (вдохновила) me
to fight for love and happiness.
