A7. Minimum Equipment List
Instructions:
Check if the MEL is available, up-to-date and approved. Check if
MEL content reflects actual equipment installed on the aircraft.
Check if the deferred defects (if any) are in accordance with the MEL
instructions.
(Note : In some ex-Soviet built aircraft a document similar to the MEL
is included in the document called “Rokowodstwo” - See also
paragraph A4 above)

Master minimum equipment list (MMEL): a list established for a
particular aircraft type by the organization responsible for the type
design with the approval of the State of Design containing items, one
or more of which is permitted to be unserviceable at the
commencement of a flight. The MMEL may be associated with
special operating conditions, limitations or procedures.
