2. Course outline

This exciting, hands-on workshop will explore how Algebra
Tiles can be used effectively to allow pupils to make sense of
key concepts such as directed number, solving equations,
manipulating expressions and algebraic proof.
During the session, we will consider the pedagogy behind the
tiles, carefully introducing them and exploring links with the
more familiar Dienes (base ten) blocks, ensuring that all pupils
can build strong connections and make the most out of
powerful manipulative.
