Kobyaisky District—Land of Ancestors
Kobyaisky District (ulus) is one of the oldest
districts in Yakutia, rich in history and
cultural heritage. The traditions of the Yakut
people and unique natural complexes have
been preserved here. The district is the
birthplace of many renowned figures in
Yakut culture and science.

Natural Attractions
Lake Nidzhili: The largest lake in the region,
known for its rich crucian carp reserves and as a
habitat for rare wetland birds.
The Kobyai Museum of Local History named
after P.D. Stepanov was founded in 1958 and
contains over 2,000 exhibits depicting the history
and culture of the Kobyai District.
Ust-Vilyuysky Nature Park: A vast area with
diverse landscapes, from plains to mountains, and
rich wetlands.

The Olekminsky District is located in the south of
Yakutia and is famous for its main artery—the mighty
Lena River. The district combines a rich history, unique
nature, and cultural heritage. The city of Olekminsk is
the administrative center and stands on the left bank of
the Lena River.

The Lena Pillars are the
region's main natural
landmark. These steep,
weathered rocky banks
of the Lena River, up to
100 meters high,
resemble frozen pillars.

zones, including foreststeppe and dark
coniferous taiga.
