The main objective of this presentation is to give a general description of
the history of the formation and development of the higher education
system in the Russian Federation.
Another goal of the work is to demonstrate the long, complex and
contradictory path that this system has taken in our country.

The first higher educational institution in Russia
was the Slavic-Greek-Latin Academy, founded in
1687.
