Political crisis in Ukraine started
with the refusal of Ukrainian
president(ex) V. Yanukovich to
sign cooperative arrangement
with EU. It caused waves of
protests among Ukrainian
people.

Protests were fierce and
violent. They lasted from
November 2013 till
February 2014. About 100
people were killed and
1000 were wounded.

Protests made president V. Yanukovich send in his resignation
against his will. Soon he left Kiev.

The new government was
appointed itself.
Lately P.Poroshenko was
chosen as a president of the
country.

7. Meanwhile protests started in Crimea. Crimeans didn`t want their region to stay no longer under command of this new government.

8. It was appointed to hold referendum and the results of it were follow: about 93 of Crimea citizens preferred to live in Russia to Ukraine.

the DPR and the LPR. On April the Ukrainian
government began a military operation against
the armed groups of supporters of the DPR and
LPR. On May 12, according to results of the
referendum which took place on May 11, the
Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine
announced the state sovereignty and formation
of the new states: DPR and LPR.

12. Joining of the Crimea and Russian support of DPR and LPR caused the end of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Russia.
