СПАСОВ НИКОЛАЙ ИВАНОВИЧ
My great-grandfather was born in 1905 in the Mari ASSR, and died in 1965.Worked as a forestry engineer. In
1928, he graduated from the Marposad forestry technical school with a degree in forestry. Immediately after
college started working as an assistant forester forestry Sotnikovskaya Marposadskoe forestry Chuvash ASSR.
In 1931-1942, he worked as an assistant to the head of the “Ronga” forest farm of Kuyar forestry, then as a
senior forester and director of the Suslonger forestry. In march 1942, he went to the front. Participated in 1
Ukrainian, 3 Belarusian and 2 Baltic fronts.
The extract from the personal file: "in the battles to destroy the encircled group of German-fascist invaders in the
area of the city of Konigsberg and on the Zemland peninsula, he showed himself as a true son of our homeland.
Being in the platoon of topographical intelligence front rack and at the same time served as a reconnaissance
officer, not paying attention to the strong artillery and mortar fire of the enemy, he made the move by the
shortest route than reduced the time by one hour, the points were tied ahead of time and accurately.
1905-1965
The second division opened fire one hour earlier and used up the minimum number of shells, for which comrade
spasov received a commendation from the division commander after firing.«
In june 1945, he was appointed director of the Yurinsky forestry enterprise. During the period of reorganizations,
he was always in charge of forestry, was deputy director for forestry of Yurinsky LPH, chief forester of chemical
forestry.
During the pre-war period, he withstood unsubstantiated accusations during the identification of "enemies of the
people". He spent several months in the internal prison of the NKVD in Yoshkar-ola.
He retired in June 1965 from the post of chief forester of Yurinsky LPH.
