The Russian Federation is the largest country in the world. It occupies about
one-seventh of the earth's surface. It covers the eastern part of Europe and
the northern part of Asia. Its total area is about 17 million square kilometers.
The population of Russia is 142 million people. More than 100 nationalities live
in our country.

Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin is the current president of the Russian
Federation and the supreme commander of the Armed forces of the
Russian Federation since May 7, 2012. Previously, he served as president
from December 31, 1999 to May 7, 2008.

One symbol is the Russian national flag. It
has three stripes: white, blue and red.
These colours have always been
symbolic in Russia: white – noble and
sincere , blue – honest and devoted ,
red has always meant love and bravery.

Federation represents the image of the
gold two-headed eagle placed on a
red heraldic board; over an eagle Peter the Great three historical crowns
(over heads - two small and over them one big size); in paws of an eagle - a
scepter and power; on a breast of an
eagle on a red board - the horseman

and mountains.
