In the spring twice an year in many countries celebrate a very important
holiday- Earth Day!
This holiday is celebrated on 22 of April.
On this day in most countries the sound of the Peace Bell encourages people to protect
nature and life on the planet as well as mutual understanding and friendship between
peoples.

3. The first Peace Bell

The first Peace Bell was installed in June 1954 in a Japanese courtyard
It was cast in Japan from coins collected by children from 60 countries.
In Russia the first Peace Bell was installed in 1988 in Saint-Petersburg
