The object of the research is the original of JhonLyly’s play created in 1591.
The subject is the investigation of English poem`s
stylistic potential and studying typical translation
transformations found in the first Ukrainian version
(2010).
The methodological and conceptual ground
of the diploma paper are based on the results of
scientific researches of native and foreign
scientists such as

The objective of the research is toinvestigate stylistic potential of Lyly `s play
«Endimion, the Man in the Moon and define
problems and peculiarities of its translation into
Ukrainian».
The relevance of the research is
determined by the necessity to have an
adequate, correct translation of artistic Lyly’s
interpretation about mythological character
Endimion for effective intercultural dialogue.

Stylistic features of Lily`s playThe choice of stylistic figures of the court
poet Lyly was strictly determined by Elizabeth
court culture known for its allegories, symbols a
well as metaphors and epithets to praise the
beauty and goodness of the English Queen.
Lily`s play is written in a euphuistic style
that is characterized by the interplay of
deployed metaphors, antitheses and parallel
structures. Allegories in allegory combined with
symbol are of particular interest.
