EXAMPLE OF RESENTATION

15. Risk-Management

Name of Master Student

16.

• Risk management - the process of making and
executing management decisions aimed at reducing
the probability of an adverse result and minimizing
the possible losses of the project caused by its
implementation.
• Risk management in the enterprise is a specific
area of management, which requires knowledge of
the subject area of the enterprise, insurance activities,
analysis of economic activity of the enterprise and
diagnosis of its condition, the use of mathematical
methods to optimize management decisions.

17.

• Risk management policy-a set of forms,
methods, techniques and methods of risk
management, the purpose of which is to
reduce the threat of making wrong
management decisions and reduce the
potential negative consequences.

18. Three approaches to risk management

1. The first group includes the theory of optimal
risk management.
2. The second approach includes the theories
which view risks as a result of accumulation
of regressive potential.
3. The third group of problems includes
theories which view risks as a form of
undetermined result related to business
activities as special type of economic
activities.

19. In risk management, it is customary to identify several key stages:

1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
Risk identification and assessment of the probability of its
implementation and the scale of consequences,
determination of the maximum possible loss;
Selection of methods and tools for managing the identified
risk;
Development of risk strategy in order to reduce the
probability of risk realization and minimize possible
negative consequences;
Implementation of risk strategy;
Assessment of achieved results and adjustment of risk
strategy.

20.

The key stage of risk management is the stage
of selection of methods and tools of risk
management.
The basic methods of risk management are risk
avoidance, mitigation, transfer and acceptance.
Risk-tools are much wider. It includes political,
organizational, legal, economic, social
instruments, and risk management as a system
allows for the simultaneous use of several
methods and tools of risk management

21. The key stage of risk management is the stage of selection of methods and tools of risk management. The basic methods of risk

management are risk
avoidance, mitigation, transfer and acceptance.
Risk-tools are much wider. It includes political,
organizational, legal, economic, social instruments,
and risk management as a system allows for the
simultaneous use of several methods and tools of
risk
management.

22.

The most commonly used risk management tool
is insurance.
Insurance involves the transfer of responsibility
for compensation of the alleged damage to a
third party (insurance company).

23.

Examples of other tools include:
• Abandonment of excessively risky activities (method
of abandonment),
• Prevention or diversification (reduction method),
• Outsourcing of costly risk functions (transfer
method),
• The formation of reserves (method of adoption).

24. To successfully manage claims, you must adhere to the basic principles of risk management:

• You cannot risk more than your equity allows.
• You can't risk more for less.
• It is necessary to think about the consequences
of risk.

25.

The enterprise risk management system includes
the following 2 elements:
• The object of management is the direct risk of
the operating, investment and financial activities
of the enterprise.
• The subject of management – management
personnel involved in risk management (risk
managers), using a variety of techniques and
methods of managerial influence.

26. The main stages of risk management in the enterprise:

• Risk analysis.
• 1.Qualitative analysis (identification and
description of risks).
• 2.Quantitative analysis (risk assessment).
• Choice of risk management methods - impact on
risk (reduction, preservation, transfer).
• Selection and application of risk reduction
methods.
• Evaluation of the results.

27.

It is necessary to choose the solution that most fully
meets the chosen strategy of enterprise risk
management. Risk management strategy contains the
rules on the basis of which the decision is made,
namely:
Win maximum
Optimal probability of outcome
Optimal result variation
Optimal combination of win and risk

28.

• The essence of the maximum win rule is that of the possible
options for risky investments, the one that gives the highest
value of efficiency (gain, income, profit) with minimal or
acceptable risk is chosen.
• The essence of the rule of the optimal probability of the
result is that of the possible solutions chosen, in which the
probability of the result is acceptable.
• The essence of the rule of optimal oscillation of the result
is that of the possible solutions chosen, in which the
probability of winning and losing have a small gap, i.e., the
value of the standard deviation and variation.
• The essence of the rule of the optimal combination of win
and risk is that the amount of invested funds will be
commensurate with the degree of its riskiness. The variant
which allows to get the expected result and at the same
time to avoid a big risk is accepted.

29. Example of Risk-Management

An organization is considering a large scale IT
project.
They
conduct
a
risk
identification and assessment process and
discover a large number of high probability,
high impact risks. They decide to look at
alternative approaches such as incremental
improvements.
