The Department of Forest
Protection and Wood Science
was established in 1947.
The organizer and the first head
of the department was Associate
Professor, Ph.D. (Agriculture)
Andrey Petrusha - specialist in
the field of wood science.
The director of the BTI from
1944 to 1953. He headed the
department until 1955.

From 1972 to 1991 the department was
headed by Professor, Ph.D. (Biology)
Nikolai Fedorov.
He worked at the Belarusian State
Technological University from 1947 to
2009.
The author of 350 scientific works,
including 14 textbooks, teaching aids and
monographs, 27 inventions.
