11. An interesting dish
An interesting dishHákarl is fermented meat from the Greenland
shark (also known as the giant shark).
First, the shark’s body is cut into pieces and
placed in containers with gravel. These
containers have holes in the walls. The juices
rich in urea flow out, and the meat ferments
for 6–8 weeks.
After that, the pieces are hung up to dry in the
open air for another 2–4 months.
The finished dish has a strong smell of
rotten meat and a brown crust. Its taste is
bitter. Hákarl is often served with brännvin —
a traditional Icelandic drink.

When is the best time to travel toIceland?
Summer (June–August)
These are the warmest months in Iceland. In
June, the “midnight sun” period begins:
daylight lasts about 20-22 hours. This is the
perfect time for road trips, hiking, landscape
photography and outdoor activities.
Winter (November–February)
During this season, you can see the Northern
Lights — one of Iceland’s most famous natural
phenomena. Dark winter nights increase the
chances of spotting them

Conclusion: Why I want to go thereI want to visit Iceland because of its unique nature: volcanoes, geysers and glaciers
— all in one country.
The atmosphere there is also very special: it’s calm, safe, and the
people are friendly. Finally, I dream of seeing the Northern Lights and feeling
the power of nature with my own eyes
