9. Extraction of nonmetallic minerals
• The republic is rich in non-metallic minerals.• Deposits of granites, granosyenites, dulomites, marbles,
limestones, shell limestones, hornfelses have been discovered on
the territory of the republic.
• Large deposits: Zhel-Aryk and Baibiche-Sooru (granosyenites),
Kyrtabylgi, Kaiyndy and Terekti (granites), Chat-Bazar (dolomite
marbles), Ak-Ulen (syenites), Sary-Tash (limestones). The
prospects for increasing reserves and developing new deposits of
building and facing stones are very broad.
10. Mineral waters
• Kyrgyzstan is rich in hydrothermal resources. About 100 deposits of mineralwaters, 30 areas of development of carbonic waters, more than 50
manifestations of warm and hot waters have been identified, there are radon,
sulfate, ferruginous and other types of water. Resorts are based on four
deposits of mineral-thermal waters (Jalal-Abad, Issyk-Ata, Ak-Suu, Jergalan),
one radon thermal (Jety-Oguz). Medicinal table waters from eight deposits
(Ak-Suu, Kara-Shoro, Jalal-Abad, Chatyr-Kul, Barbulak, Issyk-Ata,
Furmanovskoye, Alamedin) are used for bottling. At some deposits (AltynArashan, Alamedin, Dzhilisu, Cholpon-Ata) there are local recreation centers
and sanatorium treatment.
