THE STEPS OF HISTORY1918 - Foundation of the Ivanovo-Voznesensky Polytechnic Institute. The
opening of the IVPI Chemical Faculty.
1930 - IVPI was transformed into 4 independent universities. The Ivanovo
Institute of Chemical Technology was opened on the basis of the Faculty of
Chemistry of the IVPI.
1980 - ICTI was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor for his services
in training qualified specialists for the national economy and the development
of science.
1987 - ICTI is classified as the country's leading universities performing
scientific research of important national economic importance.
1993 - ICTI was renamed the Ivanovo State Academy of Chemical Technology.
1998 – ICTA(ISACT) was transformed into Ivanovo State University of Chemical
Technology.
2005 - ISUCT was one of the first universities in Russia to be awarded the
Gratitude of the President of the Russian Federation.

Over the years of its existence, theuniversity has trained over 50,000
engineers, more than 1,200
candidates of sciences and about
200 doctors of sciences. Graduates
of ISUCT form the basis of the
engineering corps of most
enterprises of the Ivanovo region,
enterprises of the center of Russia,
the Urals, Western and Eastern
Siberia, and CIS countries. Highly
qualified personnel trained at
IHSTU successfully work in
teaching teams of universities,
academic and industry research
institutes, and other institutions of
various departments.

Y. K. Syrkin is a graduate of the Chemical Faculty, who receiveddiploma No. 1 on graduation from IVPI in 1919, later a
professor, academician of the USSR Academy of Sciences
In March 1919, the first issue of scientific works by IVPI teachers
was published – the journal "Izvestiya Ivanovo-Voznesensky
Polytechnic Institute". In 1918-1928, 76 scientific papers were
published in foreign journals by professors and teachers of the
Faculty of Chemistry, 138 in domestic journals. In 1923, the first
graduation of specialists who completed a full course of study
at the IVPI took place. The Faculty of Chemistry of the IVPI has
trained 144 specialists during its work (1919-1929). On May 1,
1928, the foundation of the new building of the Faculty of
Chemistry was laid in the city center. On March 10, 1930, its
grand opening took place.
