3. 1. Notion and Purpose of Business Talk and Discussion

Business talk is a purposeful,
interpersonal interaction
between two or more people
aimed at solving business issues
and establishing business
relationships.

Business discussion is the form of
interaction between business partners,
colleagues, the head and employees
with a view to promote and solve
business problematic issues and tasks
by comparing and colliding the subject
positions and opinions of participants.

5. Purposes of Business Talk and Discussion:

arguments and counter arguments are
presented;
making the discussion lively.
Examples :
‘Should the examination system be scrapped?’
‘How ethical is cloning?’

10. (2) Abstract Topics:

- topics are vague or unclear;
- everyone’s own interpretation of the
topic.
Examples of such topics:
‘Zero.’
‘One and one make eleven.’

a situation/problem is provided to the
participants;
analyzing the situation/problem and thinking of
various alternatives to solve it.
Examples of such topics in applied physics:
“Features of the emission of lightning discharge
radiation into the ionosphere near the equator.”
“Influence of weightlessness on the vital activity of
organisms.”
