Russia is the largest country in the
world, so it clear that there are many
holiday destinations in Russia, but today I
want to tell you for my favorite holiday
destination: lake Baikal.

3. Baikal

Baikal is one of the most amazing and unique
places in Russia and the world. This freshwater
lake, located in Siberia, is famous for it’s crystal
clear water, rich flora and fauna and incredible
landscapes.

4. Unique nature of Baikal

Lake Baikal is the deepest lake in the world, with a
depth of 1642 meters. The water in the lake is
clear and pristine, so you can see bottom of lake
at depth of 40 meters. The lake is surrounded by
mountains, forests, and steppes, so that makes a
picturesque landscape.

5. Animals of Baikal

Lake Baikal is home to a variety
of animals, including mammals,
birds, fish and insects. Many of
these animals are endemic,
that means that they are found
only in this lake. The most
famous animal that lives in
Baikal is the Baikal seal.

6. Opportunities for relax

On lake Baikal, you can engage in various types of outdoor activities:
• Hiking and trekking along the shores and in the mountains.
• Swimming during the warmer months.
• Skiing, snowboarding and ice skating in the winter.
• Fishing which is famous for it’s large number of fish
• Camping on the shores and in the mountains
• And some more activities

7. Tourist villages

Lake Baikal is surrounded by towns and villages,
some of which have many tourist attractions,
such as Listvyanka, which has hotels, cafes and
restaurants, a port, a museum and an amusement
park.

8. My opinion about Baikal

I have been to Baikal many times and I confidently
say: Baikal is not only a place for relaxation, but
also a source of inspiration and tranquility. It’s
calm and clear water and amazing landscapes
help me escape the hustle and bustle of the city.
Every visit leaves a warmth in heart and desire to
return.

9. Conclusion

Baikal is a place that is worth seeing at least once
in your life. It’s natural beauty, richness of nature
and unique atmosphere make it my favorite
holiday destination. I hope that one day you will
able to enjoy this wonderful place.
