Objective:
Practice creating users and groups, assigning memberships, and verifying
system settings.
Instructions:
1. Create Users
- Create the following users: alex, nina, omar.
- Set initial passwords for each user.
2. Create Groups
- Create two groups: research and support.
3. Assign Group Memberships
- Add alex and nina to the research group.
- Add omar to both research and support.
4. Set Default Group
- Change the primary group for nina to research.
- Keep omar’s primary group as default, but add supplementary groups.
5. Verify Group Memberships
- Use the id and groups commands to check:
- Primary and secondary groups for each user.
- Confirm that changes are applied correctly.
6. Login Shell Management
- Change login shell for alex to /bin/sh.
- Set nina's shell to /bin/bash.
7. Account Expiry
- Set account expiration date for omar to 30 days from today.
