правилу: к глаголу добавляется окончание ed.
Глагол + ed
Yesterday - вчера
Например,
Dance – danced Last week – на прошлой неделе
Play – played
A week ago – неделю назад
He danced yesterday. – Он танцевал вчера
Tom played football last Sunday. – Том играл в футбол в прошлое
воскресенье
Но есть и неправильные глаголы, которые изменяются не по правилу.
Их нужно учить наизусть.

have – had
see - saw

помощника вспомогательный глагол did.
