History of creation
Alexey Nikolaevich Tolstoy is the author of the
fairy tale story "The Golden Key, or the
Adventures of Pinocchio". This book is a literary
treatment of Carlo Collodi's fairy tale "The
Adventures of Pinocchio. The story of a
wooden doll".
The creation of the story began when Tolstoy
was in exile in 1923.

Creation
Tolstoy originally planned to simply create his own
translation of the original, he was fascinated by the
original idea and created his own story, adding the story
of the hearth painted on an old canvas and the "Golden
Key". After all, he deviated quite far from the original
story for the reason that it was outdated for the period of
socialist realism.

Characters

Pinocchio is a wooden doll with a long nose.

Papa Carlo is a poor organ grinder who created Pinocchio.

Giuseppe, nicknamed "Giuseppe Bluenose" because he was always drunk, is a carpenter and a
friend of Carlo.

Karabas Barabas is an evil puppeteer. He owns a puppet theater with many puppets,
including Malvina, Pierrot and Harlequin.

Malvina is a beautiful female doll with blue hair.

Artemon is Malvina's faithful poodle.
7.
Pierrot is a sad doll and a poet who is head over heels in love with Malvina.
8.
Harlequin is Pierrot's stage partner at the Carabas Theatre. He usually mocks and beats
Pierrot.

The main idea
In order not to find yourself in a difficult situation,
you need to study diligently and listen to the
advice of adults.
The fairy tale teaches how important it is to be a
faithful friend, a fair person, to avoid dubious
acquaintances, but most importantly – never be
lazy and gain new knowledge.
