The Uffizi
Gallery is one
of the most
famous
museums in the
world.

How the famous gallery appeared ?
The idea of creating a unique
architectural project organized by the
ruler of Tuscany, collector of
paintings and sculptures Cosimo I de'
Medici. The new palace was
supposed to symbolize the mighty
Medici building. However, the
buildings under construction were
originally intended to house fixtures
(this is also indicated by the name
“gallery”, which translates as
“office”).

The Uffizi Gallery stores paintings by Italian artists:
Botticelli, Giotto, Cimabue, Michelangelo, Leonardo da
Vinci and Raphael.
