they scared each other with surprise meetings. Approached the hunter
and asked what are you crying, little hobgoblin? what is wrong with you?
She told me that she got sick, and crying from loneliness and
helplessness.... The hunter took from his bag a small thermos of tea and
treated our hobgoblin. He gave her his sweater. yet he had sandwiches my wife did this morning - I shared with her. The witch stopped crying

Wood-goblin15.
The is a tutelary deity of the forests in Slavic mythology. As the spiritrules over the forest and hunting, he may be related to the Slavic god
Porewit.
There is also a deity, named Svyatibor, who is mentioned in the beliefs of
the Eastern and Western Slavs as the god of forests and the lord of the
leshies. His functions were identical to those of the god Veles.
The Leshy is masculine and humanoid in shape, is able to assume any
likeness and can change in size and height. He is sometimes portrayed
with horns and surrounded by packs of wolves and bears. In some
accounts, Leshy is described as having a wife (the Kikimora of the
swamp) and children (leshonki, leszonky). He is known by some to have
a propensity to lead travelers astray and abduct children, which would
lead some to believe he is an evil entity. He is, however, also known to
have a more neutral disposition towards humans, dependent on the
attitudes and behaviours of an individual person, or local population,
towards the forest. Leshy could take children who were cursed by their
relatives (in particular, parents) away to the forest people. Some would
therefore describe him as more of a temperamental being, like a fairy.

Baba yaga19.
Baba Yaga, also spelled Baba Jaga, in Slavic folklore, an ogress who steals, cooks, and eats her victims, usually children. A guardian of the fountains
of the water of life, she lives with two or three sisters (all known as Baba
Yaga) in a forest hut that spins continually on birds’ legs. Her fence is
topped with human skulls. Baba Yaga can ride through the air—in an iron
kettle or in a mortar that she drives with a pestle—creating tempests as
she goes. She often accompanies Death on his travels, devouring newly
released souls.

Baba Yaga, according to ancient legends - a being belonging to twoworlds - the living and the dead. In fairy tales, this character acts a kind of
guide to the "Far Far Away kingdom" - the realm of the dead. Description
Baba Yaga, according to which, on the one hand, the old lady who lives in
a hut "on chicken legs" and commanding wild beasts, and with another - a
witch, a representative of evil forces, is fully consistent with the
hypothesis that the creature connects the border of two worlds.
Outside Baba Yaga is quite symbolic value "lies on the stove - the teeth on
the shelf, and his nose up at the ceiling rooted", "leg bone" - the
expression representing the character as the living dead. That was a
"guest" in the house, Yaga will know by the smell, "Russian spirit smells."
This serves as proof that she does not see people. According to ancient
ideas, alive not allowed to see ghosts and spirits do not see live, but can
identify their presence by smell, which is unpleasant for the dead.

Kashchei the immortal22.
Koschei often given the epithet "the Immortal", or "the Deathless" is anarchetypal male antagonist in Russian folklore.
The most common feature of tales involving Koschei is a spell which
prevents him from being killed. He hides his soul inside nested objects to
protect it. For example, the soul may be hidden in the needle that is
hidden inside the egg which is carried by the duck that flies away
whenever anyone tries to catch it. Usually he takes the role of a
malevolent rival father figure, who competes for (or entraps) a male hero's
love interest.

Serpent gorynych24.
Zmey Gorynych has three heads, is green, walks on two back paws, hassmall front paws, and spits fire.
The serpent Gorynych is a winged, fire-breathing, many-headed serpent
(dragon), a representative of the evil principle in Russian folk tales and
epics.
The Gorynych serpent in Russian fairy tales always attacks from above
and never appears from the forest or from the water, which is typical for
dragons from the mythology of other peoples.

Famously one-eyed26.
Liho is an ogre woman who looks like a cyclops. She has long, tousledhair, sharp claws, and only one eye on her forehead. Famously inhabits
the swamp. She has a magical skull that screams for people. When they
come close, the Famously rushes at them and devours them. The lair of
this monster is located at the bottom of the swamp and is a dark and dirty
cave filled with human bones, which the Famously carefully gnawed.
Although there is a description of a simple hut that stands in the forest. In
this way, it is very similar to the Cyclops. In some fairy tales, Famously
has 3 daughters - the first fanged, the second clawed, and the third both.
And sometimes he looked like a strange humanoid creature with animal
paws and horns.

Bannik28.
Bannik is a demonological character in the beliefs of the Eastern Slavs. Itwas believed that he, unlike other spirits, does not like people, is
distinguished by an evil disposition. It is no coincidence: after all, he has
to deal with the physical and spiritual dirt that people leave in the bath.
Where it came from is hard to say. Perhaps, like the Brownie, the Bannik
is the spirit of the ancestors of the owners. Be that as it may, the main
duty of the Bannik is to supervise the order in the bath, to punish those
who violate it.
In addition to the Bannik in the bathhouse lives Algeria, which is
considered either a Swab of a female, or his wife. She looks unsightly — a
shaggy, terrible old woman, sometimes changes into a cat, a monkey,
sometimes into a beautiful naked woman. Its other name is Shishiga. This
spirit is even more insidious: it changes into a familiar person, calls for a
steam bath, but can kill.
Usually the bannik is a shaggy old man, quite scary to look at. In the bath,
he and his wife take a place behind the stove or under the shelf.
