GENDER STEREOTYPES

2.

Meaning
Gender stereotypes are widespread ideas in society about the
characteristics and behavior of representatives of different genders,
primarily men and women. Gender stereotypes are closely related to
existing gender roles in a given society and serve to maintain and
reproduce them. In particular, gender stereotypes contribute to the
maintenance of gender inequality.

6.

“+” AND “-”
+ - One pro of gender stereotypes is that they can help individuals understand
what is expected of them in certain situations.
- - However, a major con is that they can limit individuals’ potential and create
harmful biases and discrimination.

7.

Our attitude
In our opinion, gender stereotypes are harmful and limiting. They create
unnecessary pressure on individuals to conform to rigid gender roles and
can lead to discrimination and inequality.
We should work towards breaking down these stereotypes and promoting
equality and acceptance of all genders and identities.
