AbstractExtraction of gold from gold copper
ores is problematic due to technical
and economic difficulties associated
with the rapid dissolution of most
copper minerals during cyanide
leaching. This leads to excessive
consumption of cyanide, as copper
cyanide complexes are formed, which
negatively affects the process of
cyanide extraction and subsequent
detoxification.

The mineralogical composition of gold ores varies
widely, among them there are relatively inert
minerals that interact weakly with cyanide
solutions, and minerals that actively react with
cyanide and dissolved oxygen. As a result, side
reactions increase the consumption of reagents
and in some cases reduce or delay the extraction
of gold into cyanide solution, and the products of
these reactions usually cause complications during
subsequent operations. For this reason, the
material composition of gold-bearing ores is one of
the most important factors determining the
effectiveness of the cyanidation process.
As the raw material base changes, gold-bearing
mines are forced to use ores with a more complex
chemical composition and varying degrees of
persistence. Therefore, there is a need to develop
technologies to reduce the cost of reagents,
especially sodium cyanide.
