While undergoing renovation
and restoration, the roof of
Notre-Dame caught fire on the
evening of 15 April 2019.
Burning for around 15 hours,
the cathedral sustained
serious damage.

the principal royal residence of
France from 1682, under Louis
XIV, until the start of the French
Revolution in 1789, under
Louis XVI.
It is located in the city of
Versailles, 16 km southwest of

for the Hall of Mirrors and the
Royal Opera.

It is named after Georges

France from 1969 to 1974.
