Locke’s goal-setting theory – specific and difficult goals, with feedback, lead
to higher performance
Bandura’s self-efficacy theory – the higher is a person’s belief in his/her
capability of performing a task, the harder would they try to do this task
Skinner’s reinforcement theory – behavior is a function of its consequences
(i.e., punishments, reinforcements)

Adam’s equity theory – high levels of employee motivation is achieved
each employee perceives their treatment to be fair relative to others
Vroom’s expectancy theory – a person will choose their behavior based on

3. What is the procedural justice? What are its main elements

Procedural justice is the perceived fairness of the process
used to determine the distribution of rewards:
• Process control – opportunity to present your point of view

about desired outcomes to decision makers
• Explanations are clear reasons for the outcome
• A manager is consistent, unbiased, open to appeals, uses
accurate information.
