• Jules Verne was born on February 8, 1828 in Nantes in
the family of a lawyer. Growing up in a family with legal
roots was reflected in the biography of Jules Verne. In
Paris, the future writer received legal knowledge. But in
addition to the rights of Jules Verne was fascinated by
literature. He wrote short stories, comedies. His first play
was staged in 1850, and the first published work was a
novel from the series "Extraordinary Journeys" in 1863.
Since then, Vern has tried out many professions, but has
never stopped writing.

• Vern traveled constantly: in the United States, the Mediterranean,
and almost all of Europe. During his biography, Jules Verne wrote
66 novels, many novels, and plays. Verne's works are intertwined
with the nobility of the characters, incredible journeys, and an
accurate description of the technique. Many of Jules Verne's novels
have been adapted into films. Among his famous works are
"Journey to the Center of the Earth", "From Earth to the Moon",
"Captain Grant's Children", "20,000 Leagues under the Sea",
"Around the World in 80 days" and many others. Vern was shot by a
gun, so he was bedridden, but he died of diabetes.

• Named after Jules Verne: the first automatic
cargo spacecraft developed by ESA; a crater on
the moon with a diameter of 143 km. In his
works, he predicted scientific discoveries and
inventions in a variety of fields: scuba diving,
television, space flight, large submarines,
airplane, helicopter.

The writer died on March 24, 1905, at his Amiens home at 44
Boulevard Longueville (today Boulevard Jules Verne), at the age of
78, from diabetes. More than five thousand people attended the
funeral. The German Emperor Wilhelm II expressed his
condolences to the family of the writer through the ambassador
who was present at the ceremony. Not a single delegate of the
French government came. Jules Verne was buried in the Madeleine
Cemetery in Amiens. On the grave there is a monument called "To
immortality and eternal youth". The sculptor Albert Rose made it
from the death mask of the writer.
