Biography
Born: 7 February 1812, Portsmouth, England
Died: 9 June 1870, Kyme, England

Charles Dickens is an English writer. He is the author of
novels and essays. He became famous during his
lifetime and was named the largest prose writer of
the 19th century.

He was the best at describing family values and home comfort.
However, this was present only on paper, he was able to
compose fantasies that adorned human life. He himself had
grown up in abject poverty and endless debt, into which their
family had been driven by their father.

Charles became very popular in his time, but never really
happy. He searched everywhere for his ideal, spending
many years of his life on it. His works were included in the
classics of world literature.

In 1836, Dickens published his
first works under the title
«Sketches of Boz». Their topic
was very relevant not only for
the reporter himself , but also
for the majority of residents of
the British capital. Everything
that Charles Dickens wrote
was always popular with
readers, whether it was a
story, a novel. He wrote a lot
and productively, books were
published with a small interval
in time.

- this is the first novel by Charles Dickens.

famous novel.

ordinary Englishmen. In them, the fairy tale is
intertwined with reality, and the horrors of the other
world are not inferior to the cruelty of the surrounding
reality. Magic, scary and moderately moral and
educational reading for all times .

Death
After returning from a literary
tour that Dickens made in the
cities of America, the health
of the writer was seriously
shaken. In 1869, his arms and
legs often failed. On June 8,
1870, he had a stroke from
which he did not recover. The
great novelist died the next
morning. During his entire life,
the author wrote 135 works.
