History of creation"Officers" is a Soviet feature—length film directed by Vladimir Rogov at the
Gorky Film Studio in 1971. The plot of the film is based on the play
"Tankers" by the Soviet writer Boris Vasiliev.
• The premiere of the film in the USSR took place on July 26, 1971. The film
grossed about 53.4 million viewers at the box office.
• The film was shot on black and white film. In 2010, it was colorized by the
Color Formula company. The premiere of the color version took place on
Channel One on Defender of the Fatherland Day in 2011. Vasily Lanovoy,
even before the show, expressed a sharply negative attitude to the
colorization of the film.

The plot of the filmThe main storyline is that, despite many difficult life trials, friends remain friends and remain
loyal to officer friendship, duty and honor. They have come a long way together, participated
side by side in the Civil and Patriotic wars, but always remained the same as in their youth.
The film tells about the life of Alexey Trofimov, who is shown in the first frames as a young cadet,
and at the end of the film as a gray-haired army general. He is surrounded by his wife Lyubasha,
son George and grandson Ivan. However, the film is not at all about the everyday problems of
these people.
By a special coincidence, they are all military personnel. And it is this peculiarity of theirs that
fundamentally affects the course of their stories, the decisions they make in various situations.
The main idea that the authors wanted to convey is that even in peacetime and in everyday
affairs, officers remain noble. Because an officer's position is laid in a person from childhood,
and with the development of character, the honesty of these people comes to the fore.
