Hi, Mary! I’ve just found two illustrations for our project on “Wild animals in Captivity” and
I’d like to discuss them with you.
1 Give a brief description of the photos, justifying the choice of the photos for the project
I think these photos are a good choice for our project as they show two completely different
places where wild animals can live. In the 1st photo there is a caged tiger. In the second photo we
can see some tigers in the wild.

2. There are some obvious differences between the photos. The 1st photo shows a
lone tiger in the zoo, where no freedom of movement. By contrast, the 2nd picture
depicts an adult tiger with two tiger cubs near the river in the wild nature. These
animals have wide open space to move around.
I think these pictures are a perfect illustration of different wild animals'
habitats.

3 Mention the advantages and disadvantages (1-2) of the two types of habitats;
3. Indeed, although these two types of habitats are very different, they both have
their advantages and disadvantages. Both habitats can be rather hazardous which
is their significant drawback. In the wild animals are killed by people (poacher
[ˈpəʊʧə] браконьер) for their beautiful skin. As for zoos, they can’t recreate
animals’ habitat. This makes them unhappy and restless (беспокойный). Also,
some animals do not breed in the zoo as they feel stressed. But living in the zoos,
animals are always fed and have medical care, in the natural environment
animals have a lot of space to live happily and hunt.

4. All in all, both pictures make me think of wildlife. As for me, I am sure that
wild animals should live free in their natural habitat because they are part of
nature.

•You forget the prices you’ve seen in the previous shops, so you can’t
compare them
•You must wait for a free dressing room to try on the clothes
•You must meet a lot of strangers and to go through the fuss

•You will save time and money that you would use for parking and gas, if you were
shopping in stores
•You can easily compare the prices
•Variety – You can choose sizes, designs and colors
•You can buy the product whenever you want
•You can send gifts
•You can buy the same thing you’ve seen in the local store for less money
•You have a “Shopping cart” icon that reminds you how much money you’ll spend
•You can make your own design.
Cons of online shopping:
•You can’t see the product physically
•You can’t try it on
•You must wait for the product to arrive
•There is a possibility for not receiving the order because of wrong address or some
other reason
•Sometimes, you will need to pay higher price for shipping, than for the product
•You are under risk of online fraud

I think these photos are a good choice for our project as they show two completely different
types of shopping. In the 1st photo there is a family doing the shopping in the store. In the
second photo we can see a woman buying things on the Internet. People in both pictures seem to
take pleasure from the ways they’re making the purchases.

2. There are some obvious differences between the photos. The 1st photo shows traditional
shopping, the family can choose, touch and feel the product in the supermarket but they have to
carry their groceries home from the supermarket. By contrast, the 2nd picture illustrates online
shopping, the woman is lying on the bed and shopping using her tablet. She can’t see the product
physically. But the products will be delivered at her door steps.
***I think these pictures are a perfect illustration of the fact that shopping can be different.
