I am the book
I’m the book that Betty read
At her table ten minutes ago.
Now I’m standing on my
head,
And where’s Betty I don’t
know.
Just look at my dirty page
Dear me! What shall I do?
Though I love girls of her age
I won’t stay with Betty Blue.

26.

Since books are friends,
They need much care.
When you are reading them,
Be good to them and care
Use book-marks, children,
To hold your place.
And don’t turn a book
Upon its clear face
Remember, children, then:
Books are meant to read,
Not to cut or colour themNo, really, never indeed!

27.

I LIKE TO READ BOOKS
I like to read books,
It’s my cup of tea.
Books are full of ideas,
Don’t you agree?
Books can teach and excite,
Books can comfort and thrill,
Books can show you the world,
And will make you feel.

28.

Funny books make me laugh,
Romances make me cry,
Adventure books make me happy,
I don’t know why.
Thrillers bore me to death,
Fantasy is good fun.
And I don’t read science fiction,
I’ve never done.

29.

All those robots and fights,
And alien ships,
Make me cry at night,
Make me walk in my sleep.
Books will not let you down,
Books will never mislead,
When you make a new friend,
Ask him “What do you read? ”

30.

REMEMBER, DEAR FRIENDS
The more you read,
The more you know,
The more you know,
The smarter you are,
The smarter you are,
The stronger your voice,
When speaking your mind,
Or making your choice.
