EDUCATION SYSTEM INTHE CZECH REPUBLIC

PROJECT PLAN• Preschool education
• School education
• Higher education
3.
PRESCHOOL EDUCATION• Children can receive preschool education from the age of three in
kindergarten, both in private (there are fewer of them) and in public. The
difference in the form of ownership does not imply a difference in the
quality of the services provided by both. And this determines the general
level of preschool education.
4.
SCHOOL EDUCATION• School education in the Czech Republic consists of 2 stages: basic and senior. A child
begins to receive basic education at the age of 6, studies until 14. This education is
compulsory, and the law on it has been in force in the Czech Republic since 1949.
5.
SCHOOL EDUCATION• Afstudents can choose from three options:
• High school
• Secondary specialized school – students receive a specialty and can start working.
• Secondary education with a certificate - compulsory for young people who want to study
at Czech universities, since only a Czech matriculation certificate gives the right to enter
a university.
6.
HIGHER EDUCATION• Higher education in the Czech Republic is obtained either in colleges or universities. The
difference is that a college provides highly specialized knowledge and does not imply a
master’s degree, while a university has broader, one might say, academic knowledge and
has a master’s degree.
