The main part• The title of the novel is very unusual. This
detective novel is rich and confused in the plot.
The cunning constructed murder will hold your
attention right up to the final page. The book
contains touching moments. For example, a
secret meeting of Maurice and his beloved Louise
Poindexter . I would also like to note that the
author describes very skillfully and colorfully the
nature of America.
5.
The main part• In this novel Mayne Reid managed to create images of very
different characters in character. Some of them are insidious,
cruel. But others are very kind and merciful.
• Maurice is one of the main characters. He showed himself to
be a real man, it was resolute and brave throughout history. I
also liked Louise. The author depicted her as a very beautiful
and strong-willed girl

Conclusion• I really like this book. From the book I learned
about the new country. America is very
different from Russia. The only reservation of
the book is its length. It has more over 400
pages, so it is rather long. But It is difficult to
put the book down. I recommend this book to
teens.
