В 2008 году коренных жителей финской области
Лапландии (саами) насчитывалось около 7000,
оленей - около 200 000, а владельцев оленей –
оленеводов – около 6500.
Абсолютный минимум температуры в Финляндии
был отмечен 28 января 1999 года в Покко, общине
Киттиля -51.5 градусов.
Рованиеми, самый крупный город Лапландии,
который находится на её юге, 15 по населённости
город Финляндии, по форме город напоминает
оленьи рога. Самая низкая температура там -45
градусов.
