Rogozhka is the
first stop for
travelers who turned
off the highway and
headed for
Pervomaisk. Not far
from the road is the
burial place of
Alexander
Nikolayevich
Karamzin and
Natalya Vasilievna
Obolenskaya. They
remained forever on
the land that they
loved. It became an
example of serving
the Fatherland.
Nearby
the
alley there is the
grave of the
Karamzins
whose
tombstone
is
always
decorated with
fresh flowers.
There are no
tourist
trails
laid here yet, but
due
to
its
location
and
amazing history
Rogozhsky park
can be safely
attributed to one
of the unique
monuments of
the history of
Nizhny
Novgorod
Region.

• Five Ponds’ Secret...
• The unique system of five ponds
is also impressive. The bottom
of each is filled with oak and
clay, and overlapped by willow
twigs. Although the ponds are
more than 160 years old, the
water does not leave them.
Through special grooves, the
ponds are fed by melt water, so
the level remains unchanged
even in the driest summer.

Rogozhsky park is a pearl of nature!
– In Rogozhsky Park almost all the main tree species of the zone are represented.
There are also rare trees of Siberian fir and cedar (Siberian pine). The park's
landscapes are decorated with silver poplar, birch, spruce, aspen, maple, linden,
bird cherry, white and brittle willow, forest honeysuckle, common lilac,
buckthorn, and wild rose.

spot for tourists and connoisseurs of Russian history.
