13. The imperative sentences

eg. Open your books!
Sit down!
Look at me!
We form the imperative by using the bare infinitive of
the verb at the beginning of the sentence.
eg. Don’t raise your hand!
Don`t lean out of the window!
We form the negative of the imperative with
don’t. We use the imperative to give instructions,
commands.

14. The imperative Повелительное наклонение

Употребляется, чтобы:
• Отдавать приказания.
• Давать указания/инструкции.
• Предлагать что-то.
• Просить о чём-то (обычно с добавлением
please в начале или в конце предложения).

• Повелительное наклонение глаголов
совпадает с инфинитивом без частицы to:
Sit down!Садись!
• Отрицательная форма образуется при
помощи Do not=Don’t и инфинитива: Don’t
talk to him! Не разговаривай с ним!
