PRESENT CONTINUOUS
Используем:
- для описания действия, происходящего в момент речи;
-
Для описания действия, происходящего в настоящий период времени;
-
Для описания запланированного действия, которое произойдет в не слишком далеком будущем;
-
Для описания типичного действия, вызывающего раздражение (используются слова always и
constantly)

Present continuous
◦ Слова-подсказки: now – сейчас, at the moment – в данный момент, this Saturday – в эту
субботу (когда говорим о не слишком далеком будущем), Look! – Смотри!, данное время
часто используется в прямой речи (диалогах, монологах)
◦ Формула образования : to be + Ving (IV форма глагола)
◦ To be = am (I) / is (he, she, it) / are (you, we, they) Ex. : I am going, He is doing
◦ Примеры:
+ We are writing the letters now.
- We aren’t (are not) writing the letters now.
? Are we writing the letters now?

PAST CONTINUOUS
Используем:
- Для описания действия, происходившего в определенный момент в прошлом
- Для выражения действия, которое длилось в определенный момент времени в
прошлом

Past continuous
◦ Слова-подсказки: from 2 to 5 yesterday, at 2 o’clock yesterday, when mother came, etc. – все, что
указывает на конкретное время / промежуток времени в прошлом
◦ Формула: to be + Ving
◦ To be = was (I, he, she, it) / were (для всех остальных случаев) Ex: They were running, She
was writing, I was playing
◦ Примеры:
+ We were writing a test at 2 o’clock last Monday.
- We weren’t (were not) writing a test at 2 o’clock last Monday.
? Were we writing a test at 2 o’clock last Monday?

FUTURE CONTINUOUS
Используем:
- Для описания действия, которое будет длиться в будущем

Future continuous
◦ Слова-подсказки: at 2 o’clock tomorrow, from 3 to 7 p.m. next day, when my friends will come,
etc. – все, что указывает на конкретное время / промежуток времени в будущем
◦ Формула: will (shall) be + Ving Ex: I will be painting, She will be watching
◦ Форма shall использовалась ранее для I, we, сейчас считается устаревшей
◦ Примеры:
+ I will be doing homework at 3 o’clock tomorrow.
- I won’t (will not) be doing homework at 3 o’clock tomorrow.
- Will I be doing homework at 3 o’clock tomorrow?
