Sculpture Izhik - the Mascot of Izhevsk
The idea to install the symbol of Izhevsk-the boy Izhik-was born in the
framework of the project "250 years of Izhevsk — 250 good deeds". The idea
belongs to the movement of children of the Oktyabrsky district of Izhevsk
"Youth", the project coordinator was Nikolai Khaliullin. The material for the
sculpture began to be collected all over the world — in early summer, the
city announced the collection of old keys, boxes for which were put in
hospitals, shopping centers, schools and even kindergartens. In total,
several thousand keys were collected, and Izhevsk residents brought even
very rare copies.
