We live in Setchenovo district. Our
district is rather large. It is situated
in the southern part of the Nizhniy
Novgorod region. There are many
villages here, for example:
Cotchetovka, Boltinka and Mitropolie.

Some rivers flow through our district:
Sura, Kisha, and Medianka. But we have
no mountains and there are few forests in
it. The climate is different: we have cold,
frosty, snowy winter and sunny, warm or
hot summer. In spring and in autumn it is
usually cool, some times rainy.

Setchenovo is the centre of our
district. There are more then 7 thousand
people live in Setchenovo. In our district
there are some farms. They grow potato;
onion, wheat, corn and some fruit. There
are also cattle-farms there.

In Setchenovo there are some
factories: the Bakery, the Milk
factory, the Volga-Trans-Gas Station.

Sechenovo is known by some
great men, such as: Setchenov,
Krilov, Filatov, Glazunov, Zhitkov
etc. So, you can visit our district
Museum of History.

We have also a large and modern
hospital, 3 kindergartens, 2 schools,
1 technical school, many shops, the
market and 2 supermarkets.

There is also a beautiful sport complex
with the swimming-pool, 2 skating-rinks
and a large stadium, where people of our
district have different sport competitions
and some holidays. In summer people can
play football, tennis, basketball. In winter
we can ski and skate.

Setchenovo is the centre of
culture too. We have the central
district library, 2 Houses of Culture,
where we can visit different concert
programs and shows; the Musical
school.

Sechenovo is an old large and
beautiful country. It’s very green in
summer.

Though it’s old, there are modern buildings in
Setchenovo, monuments and parks. Modern
technologies are used at many offices and
schools. We are proud of our town.
