Yuri Gagarin was the first man to be
sent into space. He was launched up
from Baikonur cosmodrome (located in
south Kazakhstan) in the first artificial
satellite, Sputnik 1. Baikonur is the
world’s first and the largest space
launch facility.

• Served in a large dish placed in the
middle of the table and it involves
chunks of boiled horse meat or
mutton, layered with noodles
boiled in a broth called “sorpa”,
and then topped with onions,
garlic, parsley and fennel.
