First dysyatyrichchya twentieth century entered the historyof world art emergence of fundamentally new artistic
phenomenon that was called modernism.
Modernism inherent global rupture with the traditional
experience of work, the denial of realism, the constant
search for new artistic forms. The first flow of modernism
called avant-garde.
But along with the latest trends in the Ukrainian artistic
culture developed traditional realistic art and traditional
genres: portrait, landscape, still life, historical and everyday.
