People at the top (government and royal family) lived in
palaces and ate fine food
People in the middle (craft workers and scribes) were well
respected and often rich
Most Egyptians were at the bottom and were poor and had
to work very hard

7. Rights of Ancient Egyptians

Most Egyptians didn’t have many rights!
Most people did not go to school.
Egyptians served the wants of the pharaoh and did
whatever he or she wanted them to do!

8. How could you become a pharaoh?

Usually, it runs in the family
The son of the current pharaoh would become pharaoh once
his father died
Women were pharaohs too!
Pharaohs were thought of as gods

Became pharaoh when he was only 9 years old!
Died when he was 18 years old
His tomb was discovered in 1922 along with toys from his childhood,
perfumes, and jewelry
The discovery of his tomb is so important because it was one of the only
tombs that hasn’t been touched by robbers –everything was how it was
when he was buried (for the most part)!
